Rising Above: The Spiritual Path to Emptiness and Freedom

Rising above the plain, I have come to the top of the hills. From these heights, the vistas that once seemed vast are now faintly visible. What once appeared significant has almost disappeared. And this is not true only of the material world; it is equally true in the spiritual realm.

As one climbs higher and higher on their spiritual journey, the particular merges into the universal, the specific dissolves into the general. The child who once cried when a toy was broken now laughs at the incomprehensibility of his past attachment. Where was the value in that object? It was never in the object itself—it existed only in the understanding, or lack thereof, of the individual. Value and worthlessness are created purely by perception.

An object is simply an object. The person assigns value to it. To rise spiritually is to become priceless, to see the world as without inherent worth. To rise is to expand into nothingness, where the world becomes void, adjectiveless, stripped of all labels and distinctions that constantly disrupt our inner peace.

Rising up is not about reaching a physical place, a height, or a goal. It is about finding oneself by losing oneself—releasing attachments, losing the self-centred perception, and losing the heavy burden of measurement and judgment.

This is what rising truly means: to dissolve the boundaries of self and world, to see the whole as neither valuable nor worthless, and to rest in the clarity of emptiness, limitless and free. To physically and spiritually experience this elevation, step away from the plains of the mind and join our upcoming meditation camp, the Mahāprāṇa Dhyāna Śivira. From the Diary of Suvvidhi
